RSS feed for "What's on now and next"

  • Paul Hayes

A lot of the time I would just like to quickly view what it online NOW and what's going to be on next, at a glance. Like the teletext service.

An RSS feed would be perfect for this, particularly if I could integrate it with my personal google homepage.

Example:
BBC1: Now: 20:00 - 21:00 - The News
BBC1 Next: 21:00 - 23:00 - Film: A Random Film
BBC2: Now:
BBC2: Next:
etc...

Show's you what's on now.

Just realised it's only default channels (it should be based on your preference if your logged in) - will fix at some point soon

mightyv provides a "what's on now" RSS feed: http://www.mightyv.com/search?service_type=tv&pre=whats_on_now&format=rss

Hi Paul,
I have been developing a prototype tv guide in php which i haven't submitted here yet as i haven't got it working 100% yet, but you can build an rss feed @ http://tv.blueghost.co.uk/nn.php (eg http://tv.blueghost.co.uk/feeds/rss/nnp/1+2+32+33 ) . Use the "Now & Next RSS Feed Builder" at the top of the page. The format isn't exactly as you requested but it's similar.

I use it for google myself, but google seems to have a limit of 9 items per feed so you can only view 4 channels

The version that I currently use..

http://smithson85.plus.com/projects.html

and i quote..

" T V R S S : N o w & N e x t

An addition that was requested from a user of the main RRS feed was for now and next programs on selected channels so here it is.

http://smithson85.plus.com/now_next.php?ch=channel

Where "channel" is the short name of the channel, for example bbc1.

The listings are still pulled from Andrew Flegg's site but the script is hosted locally to guage interest. The time is currently what is pulled off my server, so GMT or BST depending on the time of year. "

An offical now/next beeb feed would be great.

My site http://www.imup2date.co.uk shows Micheal Pritchards TV Now and next RSS Feed in action, but has been flakey. Not bad though
