RSS Discussion in IPB

We have developed a system for the IPB discussion software that will automatically check selected RSS feeds and post them in a specified forum for public discussion. The link above is demonstrating this with BBC feeds on our own site.

In our community forums we found people often posted links/snippets of BBC articles for discussion, so we took this as inspiration and created a system that does it automatically.

The system will work with any valid RSS feed; we have chosen to use several BBC feeds on our own site.

As a frequent user of both the Invision Power Forums and an admin of my own forums, I feel this feature will be an excellent addition to an already great piece of software.

Seeing how many BBC news stories get posted on both forums this should prove popular.

I think this would tie in very well as well with one of the "tagging the BBC News" ideas. If you can generate feeds for tags then you would potentially have a much larger number of feeds and the content you could do this idea upon would be much more focused.

Have it running on 2 of the forums i run using bbc rss feeds with no problems at all
